Qatar Tourism Grows 3% in 2025, Driven by GCC and Global Visitors

Qatar Tourism industry continues to thrive in 2025, recording a solid 3% growth in international arrivals. Visitors from the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) led the surge, followed by strong interest from Europe, Asia, and beyond. This uptick reinforces Qatar’s rising reputation as a must-visit destination, combining cultural richness, modern attractions, and global events.

According to new tourism data, GCC nationals made up 36% of all international visitors, with Europeans accounting for 26% and Asia & Oceania 22%. This diverse tourism mix highlights Qatar’s ability to attract both short-haul and long-haul travelers through strategic campaigns, multi-access transport infrastructure, and year-round event programming.

✈️ Visitor Entry and Hotel Performance

  • 57% of arrivals came by air, 33% by land, and 9% by sea, showcasing Qatar’s accessibility.
  • Average hotel occupancy rose to 71%, while over 5.23 million hotel nights were sold—up 7% year-over-year.

💰 Qatar Tourism Impact on the Economy

In 2024, the tourism sector added QR55 billion to Qatar’s GDP, making up 8% of the national economy. With projections aligned with the Qatar Tourism Strategy 2030, this figure is expected to reach 10–12% in the coming years.

Qatar’s national tourism brand, Visit Qatar, launched standout campaigns like “Moments Made for You”, and even collaborated with David Beckham to promote the country’s appeal. Events such as:
